R.I.P

My Chloe bag is no more. Don't Cry for me Argentina it was my own fault. I didn't pay it off in time and David Jones cancelled the lay by. You will be pleased to know however that the hefty some i had already smacked down was refunded to me in its entirety because i lied through my teeth and said i recieved no notice of the impending cancellation. I don't ordinarily encourage such Pinoccio styling but this was a lot of mollah.

I was so depressed that i wondered around aimlessly for a minute... then dropped the earnings in one fowl swoop at the corner shop. Yeehaaaa i lassooed some Lover Pants, a Therese Rawsthorne shirt and some delightgful but obsecenely tight lilac coloured Cheap Mondays.

Moi, a label whore? No way Jose!

Ps... Could David Jones use this as evidence against me for their label?

Dinosaur eyesore

This show got me thinking... when you love pieces from a show but hate others in the show does that mean you liked or disliked the show? I tend to over-analyse things so this is really me thinking out loud. But I'm not sure whether I like or love Giles and this leaves me feeling dissatisfied.
For example for Spring RTW 2010 i loved:

I mean love loved. As in i would marry the looks if legally allowed or remotely sane. Kitsch and sexy and with an element of fun. There was an old woman who lived in a shoe, she was mad but her suit was blue.

But then i hated:

Yes hate hate as in offended by, upset with, not talking to these clothes. Strong feelings to have against harmless garments i know but it is everyone's least favourite green, sickly sweet coral and all are very badly fitted. There is something sublime about a perfect fit. Work it out!
Comments are welcome... put my mind at ease.

Legend

Amongst all of this raw, stripped back and "effortless" fashion that saturates our magazine pages don't you wish for a little classic elegance?

Go back to the roots and study a master. Horst P Horst deserves nothing but respect. A real interest of mine and a constant goal in my work and in my own personal style is beauty. I strive for beauty as it is timeless and still subjective. It is a constant and yet ever changing. It is natural and yet able to be created. Beauty is something that should be omnipresent.

Ok class, Horst P Horst was an German classic photographer whose career spanned sixty years. Today his work is still acclaimed as being forever in Vogue thanks to his acute eye for glamour, sophistication and of course beauty.

The pictures will say it all. See below and please mind your drool on the keyboard.

.

And who young lady, are you?

As ever this great land we live in is producing more and more internationally respected and more importantly "wanted" models. Mixed into the fashion city stew with Jess Hart, Miranda Kerr and Catherine Mcneil is a new angelic face with a seriously punchy pout.

The (h)it  girl on everyone's lips right now in NYC is Keke Lingard. Well, to be perfectly fair Keke is only half Aussie and is sky rocketing out of sunny Hawaii where she grew up. Actually, lets say semi grew up as she is all but the tender age of fifteen so there is a lot more growing to do yet. I am still going to claim her as our own, so please let me go along with it.  Cue: Waltzing matilda background music, Nikki Webster riding a giant thong and Cathy Freeman carrying both flags. Ahhh... Patriotism.

Anywho, Keke is divine but with spunk. She skates, she surfs, she walks for Rag and Bone, Prada, Dolce and Gabanna and both ucci's. Pucci and Gucci you say by fifteen? I was loitering on train stations. It was a lot less glamourous I assure you.

Keke is going to be big.

J'adore Garance Dore!

How can anyone not instantly fall in love with this woman and her work. Her attitude is so refreshingly humble and positive. She truly is a breath of fresh air. When on her blog you may recognise a similar mood the that of the sartorialist. Well you may be pleased to know that they are in fact a match made in heavan. I can only imagine what joy it would be to born to those two. Imagine the fashion knowledge and contacts you would inherit. O.M.G I just DIE at the thought!

Any who, Garance has the most beautiful talent of drawing, i thought i would show you a few. I wish my drawings were this good. Maybe one day i will have the courage to show you and post them for everyone to see.

Until now lets enjoy those from Garance.

Aneta Bartos...

Love this, love that, love her.

I am in awe of this portfolio. There is such beauty in every shot. I would love to know more about the photographer, the stylist, the muse?

Here are some colour ones too. I can't get enough of the models they are so beautiful.

There such a quiet beauty about them unlike me. I'm loud. LOUD I say!

We Are Handsome- Local Lovin'

I was recently introduced to this amazing swimwear label called We are Handsome and I simply needed to post about it. They are two Sydney based designers who work it out with pumping designs and imagery and the highest quality handmade materials for their swimsuits. They are a little retro and a lot rockin. Me likey muchos.

This one is called the Hollywood. Sexified no? The colours are all so vibrant which mixed with tan and a healthy Euro slick of coconut oil you're bound to be the one to watch on the beach. The pieces are all Italian lycra and handmade to order. This makes me feel special. Right?

Do yourself a favour... http://wearehandsome.com/
